RTA Update 1/12/13
The new year has started off on an interesting note. I must say the first 2 weeks of this year have been hectic to say the least. I hit a deer on the way home from work on New Years Eve. Thank goodness the car was not damaged. My uncle was rushed to the hospital on New Years day. I started a new work scheduled. I now work Sunday – Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 pm.
Although, I am now working the new hours I still need to get used to them. Its different than nights and it feels better to be leaving when there is sunshine.
Other than that I have been studying for my CCNP. I am currently reviewing the rest of EIGRP and starting the wonderful world of OSPF. I want to make sure I can master those concepts before moving on to Route Redistribution and BGP. I have been reading 2 CCNP Books at once making sure I can get different perspectives on the material
From what I am gathering they are looking for someone who can take a design plan and come up with an implementation plan with verification plan. They want you the CCNP to be able to extrapolate information from a design and come up with a process in which you can use to implement and verify the implementation is correct.
As Jeremy said this is as real as it gets. You will need to know your stuff before taking this exam. Meaning you will have to know how to write up the configs using a word processor or pen and paper. verify those commands will work. Then carry out the commands on the equipment, use verification commands to make sure all is well and update any documentation.
But on that note it is time for me to get some sleep. I got some important matters to take care of on my day off then more studying. Enjoy your weekend and Happy New Year everyone.
