RTA Update 3/3/13
It has been a while since I have posted here. Things have been crazy. I have returned to work after being out sick for 2 weeks with a bad case of the flu and I was in the process of moving. As of February 19, 2013 my family and I have been fully moved into the new house. The long process of unpacking and making the house a home has begun.
I have started making progress in setting up my home network to the new network design I created months ago. My Internet has been installed and I experienced a week of 60+ Percent packet loss. I troubleshot the temporary network I have set up and there was no packet loss there. I found out the packet loss was on the wan side.
Had a technician determine the issue was RF-LEAKAGE and signal level issues down on the street and he had to book an outside technician for further troubleshooting and repair.
My desk has been set up. My main computer wired up and working wirelessly for now. Need to set up the servers and wire the home network and CCTV networks. That is going to take some time as other projects around the house need to be done before hand.
So far the projects around the house that I have completed was fixing the toilet in the bathroom, install dryer duct with link catcher, lint catcher on the discharge chute on the washing machine, Setting up tv’s and arranging furniture in the bedrooms.
I was able to buy some new furniture for my bedroom and it looks very nice and I have been able to pay off some bills. So overall things have been going well for me. I should be able to start wiring the rest of my home network over the next couple of weeks as I go though and get some spare time on my weekends.
As far as the studying for my CCNP I have not had the time to do so. I may be changing my plans and renewing my CCNA for now until I can get more time to study for the CCNP. I am still debating what I want to do as I have 1 month and 10 days to renew. More information for that to follow. Other than that I need to get going as my lunch break is over and I need to get back to work.
