RTA Update January 2017

The new year has ended and the first month of 2017 has already passed. It is time for the latest post of “RTA Update January 2017.”

I started my new position as a Network Engineer 2 at Spectrum Enterprise. My new position focuses on the managed products and services offered through Spectrum Enterprise. The managed service products include Managed Router Support, Video Back Haul, and Hospitality services to name a few.

I am happy that I have started this new chapter in my life. The primary reason is that this is a welcome change of pace to what I have been doing over the past nine year. However, the other reason is that I will be putting my College Degree and Certifications to good use.

Since I graduated, I have not used the skills in the fashion in which I wanted to use them. Sure, it helped me perform my role as a tech support representative. However, I felt that it wasn’t enough. Now with this new job I feel I have a purpose in life and it feels great to start to use the skills I learned through hard work and dedication.

I still have much to learn about this job. It is going to take time. In fact, it looks like I will be travelling to other offices to attend the training classes to become proficient with this job. Once the training is complete, I know I will still be learning as the technology sector is always changing.

In summation, I am looking forward to what is given to me with this new job. I know I am up to the task and I will love to see what is in store for me.
